UPDATE Monday April 1st

Hello Chris & Joy
Was a surprise seeing the nomads sticker on a van, as it was the first I have seen.

On the van the sticker looks lost on the white background and is hard to spot, so maybe that is why not many are seen
Hopefully catch you on the road somewhere
Ken

I think the other half will think she is the better half

Ken

Well here I am another week gone and a great week it has been again. There are quite a few grey Nomads here and a few other people of the same age group as well so it has contributed to another great stay here at Greens Lake.

A few people started to arrive Wednesday and Thursday so it looked like a busy weekend in front of us all. Easter arrived and we thought Good Friday was going to busy with people arriving but no, it did not happen. Surprisingly it is not all that busy here at Greens Lake, I think it is probably due to the weather being cooler maybe.

Speaking of Good Friday, we Grey Nomads had some visitors, Sue and Rod (Golly Molly) arrived armed with hot cross buns but I resisted the temptation as I am trying to lose some weight but it is trying and I tell you that for free.

Easter Saturday arrived and it was very chilly overnight in my big rig so I will have to sort that out as this free camping thing doesn't allow me to use my little oil heater due to no 240v power, not to worry, it won't beat me, it might freeze me but won't beat me.

We had some more visitors arrive today Saturday, David and Carol, (Plendo). They also had a couple of hitch hikers, now I was told by David on the phone he might have them and I was given a hint in a message I got from him earlier but who were they I here you ask? Well, I will keep you in suspense no longer. THE KIWIS. Yep, Kiwi Rainbow, Lorraine and Kiwi-as, Brandt.

What a great afternoon, had by us all here. Now you don't have to guess what else arrived with them, bugger, you guessed, yep out came the Kiwi-as famous scones, now come on, that's not fair at all. Now not only that but as well even, the famous Kiwi Rainbow Pav sneaked into the equation as well. Ok I give in, sorry Golly Molly but now I can't resist, my will power is not THAT good. They were both yum indeed but as of the time of departure from these great people I am now back on target to get some weight off and it IS going to happen.

Saturday night was a bit noisy from a couple of camps down, there is a large group there and at 3.00 am Sunday there was a few of them, obviously drunk decided to start yelling and screaming then went in the lake, must have been cold though. The noise stopped about 4.00 am. Oh well, the world didn't end so all's well and Sunday is another day.

Sunday started out nice and sunny, the Solar Panels will get the battery charged fully today as Saturday it was very cloudy and the panel didn't get a good work out, the battery was ok though.

We had more visitors today here at The Lake, Barina, Judy and a friend of hers also Judy came up from Melbourne to visit all here and like once before came armed with a banquet of food, now I know what you are all thinking, I was naughty, well, you are wrong, I had a small salad roll only and that was it, see, I can be good.

Today Monday will be my last day here at The Lake so I will start to pack up a few things during the afternoon, sad as it will be but I must keep on keeping on. As of about late Tuesday morning I will be known as a Mexican as I will be in NSW so until next week,

Hi Ken and Dougwe.

We met Ken [ the better half of Dunworkin] in Echuca, home of the Gold Plated Dump Point recently. This the first chance we have had to catch up since then, so thanks for a very pleasant meeting Ken as our second 'Grey Nomad' aquaintance. Dougwe was the first in Lakes Entrance. We discovered him competing with the local Pelicans for scones and jam and fragments of  pavlova down by the by North Arm. We also met 'Firefly' [Sharron] in Echuca in the same park. We hope you are all well and hope to catch up on the road soon.

Regards Chris and Joy

Hi Chris and Joy, ummm its Fireheart, not firefly. Just a typo error there I am sure. LOL> Lovely to see you posting. There really are some wonderful people out there in GN land and I for one am very grateful to have met the ones that I have so far.
Doug, keep your stories of your travels coming, just so we can keep an eye on you. We don't want to see wander of the straight and narrow. Loved your posting about Greens, you certainly had a great time with good people. Nice to see that Ken, was able to make it down for a day also.

looking forward to your next posting.

Take care and travel safe.
Sharon.

Thanks all. Now that Fireheart said she is keeping an eye on me I won't be able to stray into food shops or I will get a kick up the bum:)

Re the cold Doug, just get into your flanny pj's, put some flanny sheets on the bed and you'll be fine! My rig is warmer when I put the lid down too, but I guess you can't do that.

Happy travels.

Have you considered that if you're too cold you are in the wrong place? Might be time to move on to somewhere warmer.

Doug, I'm interested in hearing what type of heating you end up with.

Waiting for the next post of your journey.

The thick pj's might be a goer but Beth forgot to mention if I have to have fury slippers and hair rollers.

What Beth said, from my Army days, put a blanket (or doona) under your sheets as a lot of cold comes up from underneath, put on warm socks and a beanie and you'll be as warm as toast, I don't wear pj's but tracksuit pants and T shirt instead (or tracky top if really cold).

No hair rollers. It looks a terrible fright in the morning after sleeping like that!

Wouldn't suit everyone I suppose, but I have 2 very warm little iggys (Italian greyhounds) to snuggle up to the arthritic joints. Works well for me :)
