Our hunt for a new van continues, but having trouble finding one that is a. tall enough inside for me (6 ft 4 in) to stand up in and b. finding a bed long enough.
Are there any tall members out there that have experienced the same and come up with a solution - looks like a pop top will be our only option.
Hi Scoey I have a mate with your height, and he has a Jayco Sterling 19ft pop top with single beds ,one bed is longer than the other that is the way it was built,it is about two year old, he is looking for a full roof van at the moment ,he told me that the bailey caravan is one of the few he could stand up in without hitting his head, may be this is of some help to you.
We were lucky with our caravan. Ours is a 17 foot caravan and just over 6 foot 2 inches tall interier and fitted with a full king size bed with innerspring matress. The caravan was home made by a tall guy that has worked in the caravan industry for 25years.
I will be looking into selling it one day as we now want an all in one vehicle. As it was our home for a 2 year trip around Australia which we completed a year ago, I decided i should first look at repairing a few things before we advertise it. Unluckily, as we have more important priorities we can't afford the repairs for at least 2 more years.
Cheers
Jon

My 6ft4inch brother bought a 5th wheeler... tons of room. He ended up selling it again within 2 years though, had lots of problems with it. I think it was an American import, cant remember the name.
Scoey...Evenew Van these days are made with a floor to ceiling height of 6'5" unless otherwise agreed...bedding is standard double bed unless you do what we did which was to specify queen size eg 7' x 5'..........the downside is the waiting period for the build to be completed, such is there popularity.
Would think other manufacturers should be able to solve your problem ???
I'm also 6ft 4in and have no problems in our Avan Cruiser which has almost 8ft ceiling height in the middle - natually it tapers front and rear but that's where you sit or sleep. The bed is a double which was a pain at first but you learn to crib a bit of room from the wife and end up sleeping slightly diagonal. We just had 3 weeks away in it and had no problems, but they sure ain't for everybody.
