We are looking at a generator from AGRMachinery in Seven Hills, NSW. Does anyone know anything about them? Are they reliable etc? Planning to buy one online.
A friend sent me this Net address he purchased the 4.4KVA generator around 3 months ago and is happy with it. Do not know if anything has changed with the company.
A couple of them look ok I must admit. The only thing I can say is as they are from an eStore there is no showroom where you can hear them operate. My limited experience with cheap generators is they tend to be a lot noisier than the known brands like Honda or Yamaha. Then again they are affordable aren't they.
I don't know this brand of generator but I notice the sound level is 53dB which is identical to the Honda EU20i, a very quiet, popular and reliable unit, but 3 times the price !! Sounds like a good buy....

Since light travels faster than sound, some people appear bright until you hear them speak.
It also has a 6 hour run time which is good. Be interested to hear your comments on this generator after you have used it. I'm in the market for one myself. Most come from China so it's a matter of looking hard at the specs. and Warranty. A lot of them are very noisy. If I really needed one I'd go for the Honda, but at $1800.00, it's a bit rich...

What ever you buy make sure that you hear it under load. Most ratings seem to show the db level when at idle and when you connect a fridge or aircon the unit will lift you out of bed. Also look at the fuel tank capacity some are only a couple of liters not long enough to recharge a low battery and require an extended cool down period before restarting

Fuel capacity is important. We camped next to someone trying out their new generator and it ran out of fuel before it did the job he wanted i to do. He was going to sell it on line to buy another one after his trial of it failed but I guess he lost some money in the process.
Hi I hope ALL generator users are aware that the 240V from ANY portable generator can kill !!
The safety recommendation to minimize the risk is:
Only connect ONE Class 1 device/appliance at any time.
IF connected to the VAN INLET socket ,the VAN itself becomes that ONE Clas 1 device!! The VAN RCD [safety switch ] is not functional with such an arrangement
You may, with a high level of safety, connect mulitple Clas 2 devices
