We have the unit that works on 12volt and 240Volt. We can also have the recording function added and it included the latest Vast decoder.

What sort of costs would we be looking at to purchase something like this? And how many channels will it get you??

Cost is $650 for the full kit, see details on the website. We have 107 channels many of which are simply double ups from other States. You get all free to air digital stations.

There are now two suppliers of VAST satellite decoders and one of the new ones also has a hard drive with twin tuners so you can record one and watch another channel.

There is also a version with 12 volt and 240 Volt so you can have TV anywhere without mains power now.

One good thing , normally if you miss a program on TV in the Eastern States you can sometimes pick up that program three hours later broadcast for the West Coast.

The latest Vast topboxes will pump that $650 out by a few hundred dollars though!

You can only do the catch up thing with sbs and abc channels, because you need to register your vast unit in one state at a time to receive all other channels ie 7 9 10 etc

Are you able to post the model of the topbox here if you don't mind?

I have the Vast DSD 4121, but you should have a look here satplus.com.au for all information on the the model Humax HD

I just had a quick look at the www.coruno.com.au site does not mention the new Humax HD decoder, that maybe because to new one is not available right now, supposed to be out this month sometime, check out both sites, satplus will post to you same day, when they get them in.

I am a customer of satplus and have no shares in that company
