Another interesting forgoten place we went and had a look at is called Yerranderie Private Town located about 100k south east of Oberon in NSW.We left the van at c/ park in Oberon and did a day trip out there,If you had a tent or off road camper trailer you could camp out there , or in a couple of places along the way out there. This town has been retored by one women a Miss Valerie Lhuede , who had been restoring her private ghost town for 30 years. When we were there she was 87 years old,(do not know if she is still alive now )
Looks like it is now owned by the NSW government and run as a getaway resort. We're at Goulburn till Friday so may go back that way and visit. Thanks for posting herbie as it looks interesting.
Hi, If you are going to Oberon from Goulburn there is a great campsite where you cross the Abercrombie river. The road is a bit windy where it crosses the river but wil be fine for avan if your avatar is your rig. Also another campsite at Black Springs. I lived in Oberon for 19 years and it is well worth a look as are Jenolan caves and Kanangra walls.
