DHL Delivery Report VIRUS

Hi Guys,

beware of this email going around, titled DHL Delivery Report it may contain a virus, both I & Mrs W both got the same email this morning and mine contained an attachment and Mrs W one did not have the attachament, so lookout for this email and DO NOT OPEN IT, Snoops.com is aware of this email/virus.

Boy am I pleased I use Mailwasher Pro to check my emails prior to downloading from my server.

There's a similar email doing the rounds from Fedex, it's amazing how many open attachments without thinking, or is it simply curiosity?

As far as I'm concerned if the author is unknown the email is deleted, even attachments in emails from trusted source's should be treated as suspect.

Correct Santa, another no open email is the FW ones received from friends saying please pass on to all your mates, and the ones that ask you to send it back to the sender, I stay clear of them also.

Not the above ones but I got a notice saying I had a Easter Ecard waiting. I did NOT open it as a couple of years ago I got something similar and oped it then it destroyed my poota. Usually try not to open an email if I don't know the sender or it it looks sus.

Thanks for the heads up Bigw.

I have had a few like this...from FedEx, DHL, EBay and PayPal. For PayPal and eBay I go into my accounts and check there first, if there isn't anything there than those get deleted. As for the other two I never get parcels from them so I know they are scams or virus's.

A good school of thought is if your not sure delete.

Thanks Wombie, I've had a door to door delivery from DHL this year, so probably would have thought it was connected to that.

Thanks to Mrs Wombie too! s

I used to get a lot of the E-Cards too Doug. Thought I had heaps of secret admirers until I found they were spam and had to delete without opening. Gosh I was disappointed.

Santa, IF they are a good friend you should be able to tell them to stop sending them.

one problem with eCards is that the sender has to provide their email address and also your email address, that company then sells both if your email addresses to a spammer.

Duh, yep i have had stuff delivered from DHL and that would be where the spammer got our address from

it will stay in your history on your system until you clean your cache, I do mean a complete clean, should not harm your computer unless you open the attachment, then maybe it will.

if you are not sure if your virus checker is working or not send me a PM with your email address and I can then send you a virus so that you can test your virus checker, I have a disk full of viruses here if anybody wants some, just let me know.

Hi Wombat
I get a lot of emails from 19 year old hot for me ladies and they promise lots, but I've never been game to click on the attachments, let me know if you would like me to forward one of these emails and then you can let me know, what is their enticing offer, you must promise me that you wont keep it all for yourself though.
Cheers
David

there is a free version, google Mailwasher free, give it a try, been using it for years, only problem is you can only use 1 email address with the free version, so try out the free one then go pro if you need more than one emaill address

I have used mailwasher and found it did a great job, if you have multiple email addresses the paid version is worthwhile and you only have to pay once for the program not a yearly subscription, no longer need it as I use Gmail exclusively which has excellant spam filters.
Its a pity about those ladies Wombat I wonder if they will be worth it, oh well in for a penny in for a pound, could I have your credit card details Wombat, mine's full at the moment.

Oooops.....this may be genuine after all, I'm insured with SGIO and this is their underwriter (also NRMA and a couple of others, see list at bottom of this genuine link from a google search; http://www.iag.com.au/

Only this is, I paid the insurance direct to SGIO by phone, so owe them nothing!!!

I contacted SGIO who assured me it was ok to open the PDF from Insurance Australia Limited.
What a surprise, the PDF showed a refund for another customer who had cancelled their home insurance, not me at all sent to MY email address which is shown as theirs ???????
Have sent them a please explain email , but haven't had a reply yet...   f f f

WOW now that makes one wonder ,how many other people have had their refund or what ever sent to someone else. The duty of cear to day to the consumer sure as hell ain;t there any more.I check every thing over and over to make sure there is no mistakes dealing with any insurance/ gov dept/.Have found mistakes over time but sad to say not in my favour. But being honest had to let them know their mistake.
