ALL phone numbers go PUBLIC

Thank you Roving Dutchy, thought it was a little off the mark, when i read about it.As i thought it would have had more media coverage ,and the out cry from the public. You would of been able to hear from Mars.

Regards Herbi.

LOL...and yet another stupid warning. When in australia have we ever been charged for receiving a call on your mobile? This is nothing more than some stupid yankee babble.

Also, didn't we just have this post disputed just recently?

Stuffed if I know what is right or wrong, correct or incorrect, but the link does go to the Australian Communications and Media Authority.

So take it as you will.

Thanks Ole Grizzly,

You meant well and served as a reminder that my home number could be close to expiry on the register and registered my mobile numbers as well at the same time.

I think it is a fact that people can ring your mobile phone and leave a number. When you return the call it costs a fortune. I never return calls unless I know the number.

Can i be so naive and to ask is this for real or is it some kind of scam!!!!! If this what is happening it makes one want to throw the phone in the bin.We paying for calls to us from these pests who persist on ringing at meal time...That has been one thing we have not missed not having the home phn conected, but No now they have even taken our freedom from those pests away from us ,and we are going to have to pay for getting the hell annyed out of us from them. Will our numbers be in the white pages next and we will be billed for that , even though we have not given permision for it to go in ????

You can be charged for receiving phone calls on your mobile because it happened to me and I had a difficult time refuting it.

Ole_grizzly, I just reread my post and that is not how I meant it to come out. I apologize as I was inferring the scam is stupid, not you.

Please click on this link and read http://www.acma.gov.au/WEB/STANDARD.PC/pc=PC_311873

Then the next time you receive an email with dire warnings Google the heading and read about the reality of the warning, before you hit the forward button.

Cheers

David

ole grizzly
you did what you thought was the right thing, unfortuneatley the information you passed on was bogus.
the link to the do not call register was a reminder in itself for some people.

You couldn't be more wrong. Spam email, for that matter email itself does  not have viruses. It's attachements that people click on and web site links that one can click on that has viruses. Just reading a junk email will do you no harm in 99.9% of the time.

Don't worry about opening emails, just don't click on the links and attachments these are the ones that carry the viruses and with a bit of luck your antivirus program will block it if you click on them in error.
