A question I would like to know ,what is the thoughts of anyone about jacking your van up and sitting it on stands when not in use,is it a good idea or is it not worth worrying about, tandem or single axle.
We have never taken the wheels of any of our vans and have not experienced any issues with Suspension or Tyres but one of our neighbours always takes the wheels off his pop-top in the belief that his tyres will last longer, the only advantage that I can see in taking wheels off is if your van has a higher risk of being stolen then its rather hard to tow a van without wheels.

If your van is only staying put for a short time, no probs but if it is for months then maybe just rotate a 1/4 turn every now and then to eliminate possible flat spots in the tyres.

When at home for any more than a month or so, I have always .. for the last 14 years, put it up on axel stands & support the chassis at each end. Mine is a 21'6" Jayco.
Takes just a few minutes and makes it easy to do regular maintenance like .. check & grease wheel bearings, check & adjust breaks. Crawl under to inspect for damage. It may well increase life of running gear by taking the weight off. May also stop flat spots forming on tyres.
Who knows? There are always differing views on this & I'm certain that we will get 'well qualified experts' differing on the subject.
For me, it is a small task & probably can do no harm. Might just do some good.
