Boyandale Camp

Went for a drive out to have a look at Boynedale Camp ground today, but the gates are locked. Can only access the day area. The only way in is from Gladstone/ Caliope road end and the road is only open as far as Many Peaks ,from there the road is still closed due to brigde washed away.So from Monto there is no entry.Maybe the best idea is to ring Gladstone council closer to your meet up to there.Noted on the way out there that there is a beaut camping spot next to a  creek, called Futter Creek Camp Ground, nice green grassed area with drop toilet and 1 picnic table and chairs.

Thanks for the update Herbie, maybe an idea to pop it into the get togethers where all the discussion is.
We have been advised not to come up through the Monto direction as not a very good road anyway. So you are saying the bridge is washed away from the Calliope end? That could mean we need to be looking for another meet destination.

No the bridge is washed out past Many Peaks so coming from Monto is a no go, but coming in from Bilo/Glady road is ok .Still coming in from this way still needs to to be taken with care as a lot of damage on the road.Water in two places through low areas was still up  flowing pretty fast over road.If we do not get any more rain ,between now and the get together water would of stopped flowing over road.

I've been thinking about it and realised that because it's dam, the waters not going down quickly like a river would.

I'll continue this in the Get Togethers thread.
