If anyone is heading up through Geraldton WA ,and want to un hitch c/ van for a few hrs ,a good safe place is a very lge parking area accross the road from the Centro Shopping centre.We have un hitch there a lot of times .Geraldton is not a easy place to drive around towing a van we have found.And if you need to do shopping the car parks around the CBD or even around the s/ markets ,do not have parking for long rigs or short rigs. It is a good safe place to un hitch as there is on most days other c/ vaners doing the same thing. There is also people around . We left the van there on our last trip through there and went and had a look at the fab HMAS Sydney monument,had lunch at the cafe on the fourshore watching the big grain and iron ore ships lined up out at sea whaiting to get into the habour. Also went and had a tour through the cray fish processing factorey( yum tasting there ) We did not use the hot showers that are located beside the public toilets on the fourshore , but did use the toilets and had a peep into the showers and was surprised how clean they were. Next to this toilet block and showers is a kiosk ,so maybe that is why they are in good condition.Also toilets and showers in where the marina is located also. there is no charge for the use of emenities.The road house about 14ks out the G/N Highway heading north is the cheapest fuel around there.Hope this little bit of nfo helps some one.
