Looking for somewhere to stay during Easter and school holidays

G'day

As we are still very new to this traveling and haven't met to many Nomads we are wondering on some good places to go.

As the coast seems to be fully booked we were considering going inland till after the holidays. We are currently at Seven Mile Beach (great park) and then onto Narooma for a week and then to Eden, from there on we are not sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

We have a large van and travelling with a small Dog

Cheers

Ben & Suz

Hi Ben & Suz,

Given your current plans finish at Eden you can head inland from there to a number of possible places :-

a) Bombala NSW via Pambula or a road from the Princes Hwy approx 10 min south of Eden (can't remember name) through the state forests (approx 3 hrs from Eden). Small clean CP on the river within walking distance CBD. Quite timber town for a veg out and some bush day trips.

b) Go from Bombala to Cooma at which point you can head to Jindabyne, Thredbo, the snowy scheme etc. Alternatively go from Cooma up to Canberra and say gidday to Jules and Timmy(1.5>2hrs).

c) From Cooma you can also head to Tumut through the national park. Good road but a little narrow in small sections. Very nice park on the river and pretty little town. This would put you in striking distance of Gundagai, Adelong & Wagga. Along the way you will find quite a few low cost camps along the lakes and parts of the national park.

All these areas will be busier over easter than at other times but less so than the coast.

Hope this helps.

Cheers

Carl

At kangaroo Valley there is a large camp area (acers) by the river & controled by Sydney water, flushing toots & scattered water taps. We spent an easter plus a few days there a couple of years back, They took two days to mow the entire area, there were a lot of people there but still not crowded, even had security on the gates over the easter period & was all free at the time.

Its a bit of a heave haul to get there but worth it, heading from the coast go to kangaroo valley, interesting little town. cross the historic swinging bridge & a few hundred mtrs turn left, its sighn posted & sealed all the way, I think its about 7/10 kls. In camps book but dont have it in front of me at the moment,

JC
