I used sugar soap, but it needed a bit too much scrubbing for my old arms plus the label said dont use harsh chemicals or bleach. Next time, I used vinegar 50/50 as Dreamcaster said. Easy. The mould will always come back, just do it again.

Dont use strong chemicals that contain bleach or other strong chemicals to remove mould/ midew from canvas,as by useing them they brake down the waterproofing ...First make sure awning is dryed out in sun shine first .As sun light will kill the any live spores from the mould /mildew.After drying in sun sweep down whole area with a very stiff broom ,then you could try 1 cup salt to 1 gallon of hot water.Allow to dry in sun .Another method that i have used for a tent i used to own ... is dry in sun sweep with a stiff broom wash area with 1/2 cup Lysol to 1 gallon of warm water then rinse off.A very good product also is called Mould Rid availabe from ..All camping.com some times the canvas needs re waterproofing, but never use any waterproofing you can buy from hardware shop ,they claim to be for fabric but they are not specifically designedfor waterproofing canvas, you would need to consult a c/ van shop for that or maybe All camping. com may have some thing. Easiest container to use for this is a old roller paint tray. What ever way you go you would need a good week of sunshine as trying to do this with out first killing the spoues is a fruitless exercise.

Had a lot of bad weather in my area so decided to pull out the van awning to dry out only to find mould. Tried a few things to remove it without success, any suggestions.
Whilst we were in Cairns it was a bit of trouble if you did not do it occasionally, we just used no-name brand white vinegar 50-50 with water. Spray on quick rub with broom and then hose off. Won't bleach colours from awning and lasts for a while. Hope this helps
have just finished cleaning mine today used chux magic eraser and it was magic also cleaned the front vynal gaurd with it looks like new and no harsh chemicals involved you can get it from your supermarket you may need a few I went through 2 but it did a great job ,good luck

I have used a significant number of products and concoctions with a variety of outcomes but have never found a product that will remove mold in the long term, so I give mine a clean regularly with a product called of all things RV Awning Cleaner available at most caravan dealers and at shows. i apply with a spray bottle then rub down with a broom then leave for about half hour and hose off which works well on my awning.

Although the magic cubes are good on some things be very careful in there use as they are an abrasive, they will leave a dull mark on laminex surfaces and paint work that cannot be removed.
