Wyong Shire Council on the Central Coast runs 4 parks they are all very good and in good locations, prices are reasonable taking into consideration being close to Sydney, this link will give you info about each park and also other attractions on the Central Coast,
At last I can give some advice to the forum. Budgewoi is very nice but we have had some bad weather over the last few weeks so it likely to be wet and boggy. Try the park at Shelley Beach which is just south of The Entrance or alternatively Dunleith C.P. which is on the lake at North Entrance. Andy
Our van needs to be in Gosford on Wednesday for its first service/check up and then we are thinking of Sun Valley or Blue Lagoon to begin with and then head north to Budgewoi.
Have just found out that there is a Country Music Festival next weekend at The Entrance with possibly 1000's of visitors. With a husband who plays in a band this is perfect. But wondering if we should book ahead rather than chance it..........
All the Wyong council parks are within about 15 mins drive to The Entrance and are all large parks so if you can't book into Blue lagoon or one of the parks at The Entrance and there are at least 3 that I know of try the council parks, the Norah head park would probably be the driest Canton Beach and Budgewoi are both on the lake, I don't know if they have been effected by recent flooding as I am down in Sydney at the moment with my wife Sue in hospital. Cheers David
You would have to book now if there is something on at The Entrance. Canton is drier than Budgie at the moment, but all, including Shelley and Dunleith are fairly close to the Show.
There is the Central Coast which is lovely and Belmont above that, nice park on Lake Macquarie. Stockton Beach is beautiful near Newcastle and Port Stephens, Forster area all beaufiful. There are free rest areas north of Newcaster for overnight and explore through the day as I do often.
Hi If you can't find anywhere around The Entrance area you could try Terrigal or Avoca , not too far from The Entrance or Woy Woy , Umina which are on the other side of the Broadwater ,bit of a drive back but a nice area. Wish I was there as well . Hubby and myself are born and bred Coasties Cheers
Thanks to all. Have taken your advice and booked in for 6 days at Blue Bay CP. Last site apparently...... who can tell.... $40 a night so hope it is worth it but seems like it is a peak time and choice is limited.
Just hope for some nice weather to enjoy the area and the Music Festival.
G,day peoples, there is a great spot at Patonga! Asmall caravan park run by Gosford Council.best to stay mon to fri,as weekends can be busy.Only small, good amenities and a good location. There is a small takeaway(only open strange hours)and a really great pub! Stayed there last year and will bbe back there again this year John
As a kid I remember hearing Yeramba Estates ads on 2KY on my dad's radio advertising blocks of land at Gosford for 50 quid. I lived at Terrigal in the early '70s when the Florida pub was still there and a beer cost less than a buck. The whole Central Coast is a fabulous area and I'm looking forward to revisiting my old haunts one day.
