Bullbars

Hi all,

Raced out the other day in the worst rain ever and purchased a bullbar for my 2001 100 series 6 Petrol with a live front axle and becuase it was pissing down so much couldn't check to see if the mounts matched

and I think I have bought the wrong one. The Bar is a Toyota original alloy. Can anyone tell me if I can adapt this model or do I have to buy the whole unit.

Cheers Len

Hi PeteD,

Yeh, that's the problem . Have had a lot of trouble working that one out.

My vehicle is a Toyota FZJ105R-GXL 4.5 Petrol Auto 2001 and the Bar that I purchased has a large set of brackets that seem to want to bolt to the external walls of the chasis rails.

This car has a completly different build  with no obvious bolt points on the chasis rail. l notice that the current original bumper is attached with bolts top and bottom on the end of the rail.

If only I could see some fitting drawings or tutorials for both types I could see the differences but having no luck on the net.

I am going to call a bullbar  group tomorrow and maybe they can tell me if I can salvage this one or sell it on.

It's funny, pictures can make such a difference some times. I think once I have sorted this out I will post a video on youtube just to help others down the track.

Cheers Len

What is the part number of the one you got and what is the part number of the one you think you should have purchased?
