How to Survive a Cyclone in WA

Bolt and chain a shipping container to a large deep concrete slab, then lock yourself in it !!!!

This worked at Pardoo Roadhouse today....

They also had two truck drivers who sat in the prime mover!!!

Sometime back the manager and staff of the Whim Creek Hotel also sheltered in a Sea Container, don't know whether they had the concrete block though.

Best survival tip for a caravan in a WA cyclone= do not be there!

Its cyclone season, and you have wheels, point them south in december.

My sister just arrived back from Port Headland last week by plane. First trip over the west & first plane trip as well. Port macquarie, sydney perth & port headland.& vise versa. Unbeleivable what the arrival of a grandchild does to some . LOL

In Broome I lived in a park with double concrete slabs and ensuite amenities. There were chains set in the concrete to which we attached chains and turnbuckles.
Even my tropical roof was tied to the concrete slab with cables and buckles. I couldn't stop the tree falling on the top, but the van was still under there when they cleaned up the tree.
Year 2000. 30,000 tonnes of waste, mostly trees uprooted.
The only problem with heading south is the roadhouses run out of fuel and you get stuck at Sandfire or Pardoo, and they get hit. Tricky things these cyclones.
Best to avoid the tropics all together if you don't like floods and storms. Getting stuck up there in the wet season can be a bit temperamental if you're travelling and want to move on.
