I have just finished reading this very amusing and informative book by Tim Bowden, former host of ABC's Backchat programme. Thoroughly recommended for anyone contemplating visiting Tasmania, or anyone interested in a really good Caravaning travel story. Tim, a native Taswegian, has some really interesting stories about the convict, historical and social aspects of Tasmania. I am not sure if it is still in print but it should be in your local library. Cheers Pete

Tim Bowden also wrote "Down Under in the Top End"about his travels in a caravan up there. A great read plus a good guide if you are traveling up that way. His trip actually was a big loop from Cooktown, Darwin & Kakadu, then south nearly to Adelaide, east to Pacific Palms (above Newcastle) and finally up to Cairns. He is a good writer with interesting yarns.
I haven't read the Tassie book, but will try to get hold of a copy.
