Motorhome insurance

I tacked a comment on the end of a motorhome insurance thread started in 2010 but it seems to have vanished... so I'll start a new one.I went to NRMA insurance online to check out a quote on comprehensive insurance for a motorhome and contents, but could only find policies for cars, caravans and trailers. Nothing about motorhomes. Does anyone with a motorhome (as distinct from tugs and trailers) have a policy with NRMA or other insurance provider?

CMCA has Motorhome insurance arranged thru the broker Ken Tame, I am not insured thru him but have heard that the cover is very good

Agree that KT has Motorhome Insurance and to me its good cover. 03 9853 5555 or info@kentame.com.au

Some members on the :
http://aussiemotorhomers.com/forum/

are covered by APIA and with APIA you do not have to be a member of the CMCA.

Garry i thought this maybe of some help to your request, i was just looking through a mag and there was a section on c/ van insurance prices. The quotes were based on a 21ft Jayco Sterling dual axle valued with $10.000 worth ofcontents.

APIA. $ $952 policy excess $200 content excess $200 legal liability $10.000

AAMI. $521 policy excess $250 content excess not covered legial liability $20.000

CIL $655 policy excess $250 legial liability $20.000

MHIA.$1066.policy excess$200 legal liability$20.000

TCIS $613 policy excess $100 legal liability $30.000

the strange wording that was used i will quote to you from the mag....Even in events that are generally covered

there are exceptions .Anex damage if the storm is a named cyclone....so all hope if we are ever in a situation like that they don't damn name the cyclone. Only insurance companies could get away with that .Ijust was thinking if that applies to all vehicles.

Thanks for the replies, fellow GNs. Johnnz sounds cool... $411 for $23,000. Mine's probably worth half that. I'm a member of NRMA with roadside assistance, Greenslip and comprehensive on the truck (currently without the camper) with discounts for loyalty etc, so I'd rather stick with them. Last time I had a claim was 1973! I hate paying insurance but I think I'd hate it even more if I didn't and something happened. As Winston Churchill said, "That is something up with which we must put."
