Has anyone been over Cunninghams Gap lately as we are heading that way next week. Some say it is closed and will be for months and the Dept of Main Roads web site says it is open and to proceed with caution.
I thought it was open with ongoing repairs and to proceed with caution. Thats what I was told on my way up 2 weeks ago but didn't want to go that way, I went through Moonie.
We went through there is January, August and the end of October last year and it was open all of the time. In January we had to wait as it was controlled one way traffic, but not after that.
I'd say if Main Roads site say proceed with caution it will just be a bit slow, but open.
As I came into Goondiwindi there was one of those large road signs that tells you whats open and whats closed for each highway. It showed that all the roads in Qld were closed. Thats from the border. I asked at a service staion and was told No thats wrong, they are all open. The delivery guy and his truck had just come down through one of them. Moonie roads. Said they must be a bit slow changing the signs over. So not always as it seems.
Went thru on saturday, and it was great. No delays and no ruad works.Stayed at Aratula, and the semis went thru all night.
