Re- visit to an early topic by aussietraveller; third party insurance.

Paid a visit to the local NRMA office & discussed the third party ( green slip ) price increase if you are an at fault driver in an accident.

Sadly its true, if a claim is made against you ( the holder of the 3rd party policy) then you get slogged at the next renewal.

I guess you mean the compulsory third party insurance (CTP) - if so it's about $328.80 no matter what insurance company you choose for 12 months in Qld - there are no questions about accident history.
If you mean third party property damage only insurance (TPPDO) then please ignore.

My compulsory Third Party finally cost me $649.08 in NSW which is known as the rip off state and the accident that I had was not claimed on CTP but on my Comprehensive policy it was my first accident for about 30 years and on top of that it was a minor accident cost about $3000 to fix and nobody hurt.

These insurance companies are really thieves in disguise, as the people who are trying to claim after the floods are finding out when they have paid insurance for many years and then they refuse to pay after a catastrophic event furiousfuriousfuriousfuriousfuriousfuriousfuriousfuriousfurious

Thats the one, & if there is an injury claim against it because you are at fault then look out next time around

The comprehensive is  vehicle & repair, but if the CTP increased then the other person in the accident has claimed on injuries against your CTP policy, due to you being at fault.

Not so in Queensland - check the CTP calculator link below - no accident history mentioned when I calculated mine. :)
