We have had one of our Waeco fridges for 15 years, but last year the error light thingo came on,we took it to a repair man in Rockhampton QLD ,He took one look at it and said yep i know what,s up.He had it fixed in half an hr.He said when they made our make back then there was only a what ever fuse put in so he changed to a bigger one and so far it is still purring along.I only hope we get the same faithful run out of this new one. Does your fridge cool down ? our's wouldn't even start.
I would take it to a auto eleco , just to see what he thinks might be the problem. That way it will give you an indecation if it is worth getting repaired or not .As i am a Waeco man i would be interested in knowing the out come. regards Herbie

When the compressor is running there should be a fan running to cool the condenser/compressor & the electronics. If its not running & the amb temps are high the fridge may shut down. In my opinion the orig fan is too small, ive fitted a larger fan to get rid of the heat & the compressor runs less.
Unfortunately, you'll be hard pressed to find an auto elec that would be able to tell you if there is anything wrong with it unless it is completely dead. And then you'd know that anyway. You'll need a someone with experience in repairing portable fridges... like DeBe he's pretty cluey with them. I just wish he was closer when mine decided to quit.

We took our,s to a guy in Rockhampton QLD he had it fixed in a few hrs.Did not appear to be a big deal to him he said he get,s, fridges in all the time from travelers passing through .Best 480 we have spent in awhile. Now it has the larger fuse dosn;t appear to be working as hard either...
No it was $80 all up ...he is a retired man and works from a work shop from his house. I guess being from the old school he know's the workings of these fridges. If you wont his name just leave a post via here and i can give it to you. OOOPS just re read my post regarding how much it cost to get fixed and must of hit the 4 instead of the $ sign .Silly me .

You must have been lucky and got one that does know about fridges then, and was lucky enough to have whatever parts he replaced along with the fuse on hand. Was that $480.00? If a few is say 3hrs at $80/h plus $240.00 parts???
