Boynedale Bush Camp - Lake Awoonga near Calliope QLD (free camp)

Management and I stayed at Boynedale Bush Camp for 10 days in the lead up to the recent cyclone.  It is a very nice flat camp with ample shade and is situated on the edge of Lake Awoonga.  Its about 15 minutes to the west of Calliope.  Water and dump point are both in Calliope.  There are two drop toilets which were very clean.  Redclaw in the lake, we caught about 100.  Did not manage a Barramundi though.  Stay is 7 days but this is not enforced if you behave and keep your camp reasonably tidy.  Fires, pets and generators are allowed with the usual restrictions.  There is a reasonable boat launch.  The bird watching from  the boat was excellent.  Video attached.

We also checked out the free camps on both sides of the river at Calliope, I would recommend either of them especially for an overnight stay.

Thanks for that report Petengail. That is where we are having our April meet. Good to hear you can stay a bit longer than 7 days for good behaviour.

Good question Gary, Sheba has been trying to teach me that one for the last month, it must be my computer because whatever anyone has told me, hasn't worked, I hope I'm not that dumb!!!

Thanks Snap. I figured it out a while back by using HTML code in advanced editor mode.

Haven't heard of that one before.  Will try it next time.

Cheers,

Sheba.

Thats not how I do it either.

If I'm editing someone that doesn't click, I've only had to pop it in quote to get it onto my page, then I delete the http thingy on the beginning so it starts with www, then click on the end and hit enter. It becomes clickable.

I just copy and paste, then click enter straight away.  If that doesn't work, I discovered that if I delete the last letter, then re-type it and click enter it'll work.

Sometimes also, you just have to add the www. at the beginning, if it's not there, and that will work.

Cheers,

Sheba.
