Hi all, just thought would pass on , answer an add on Gumtree re sale of a van in Bendigo area, ph no suppied didnt respond so sent of an email, next day return email said van was in perth WA, the seller had returned to UK they would be happy to have van shipped anywere in Aus, all we needed to do was deposit $600 into a supposed freight company bank acount. Have come accross this scam before so just ignored, Trouble was they used the info in our original email to Try to gain access to our computor , Thankgoodness our security stoped them, but still had to change all access codes. Yuk , Stay safe , Hope every one OK in Qld,
You should pass this information onto Gumtree so they can take action to prevent this type of scam spreading. This is certainly one I haven't heard of, and there aren't too many scams that haven't been tried on me !! Usually the scams come from people responding to your advert., but this one entails the scammer registering an account with Gumtree and placing an advert. If you alert Gumtree they will cancel the scammer's account, which is obviously ficticious..

It would cost $3500 - $4500 to ship a van from WA to Victoria so the scammer is not charging enough, perhaps you should contact them again and advise them that they will be out of pocket a few 1000$
