Firstly it would be wise to have a medical check then as its quite an individual thing trial and error is often the best. There are a variety of medications available both prescription and over the counter.

Welcome sweetir. This post may have been better in Health and Wellbeing. Take note when you have it and what you have eaten - ie keep a food diary for a while. Then see a doctor.
Foods with high acidity and very gassy drinks. Citrus fruits, wine and beer (hmm rough), black sodas. Also you're supposed to eat at regular times everyday, without varying meal times from day to day for more than a half hour.
I am young but have this problem regularly. Seeing a doctor is definitely advisable, but for quick solutions I take gaviscon and it never gets to the heartburn stage. Just the bloatey stomach (which is the part the doctor shld be able to help with) but gaviscon does wonders in easing any discomfort.
Well i try to avoid spicy foods and also oily foods but sometimes this doesnt seem very useful because i still suffer from it, and right now i cant take any medication because im pregnant so i guess ill just have to wait for now and drink things that will help me like milk and yoghurt
Hi, in regards to Heartburn, this needs to be checked out by a Dr, there are many underlying reason that could be causing this, and serious ones at that, a good health check before travels is a must. I am a nurse and in my travels have come across many nomads needing assistance which could have been prevented under Dr care before travelling, if you are not able to get into a Drs on your travels the next best is a Chemist, they are trained to assist, hope this has been of some help to you.
