Kempton, Tasmania

Kempton, Tasmania - #94 Camps 5 - next to the "Blue Place" (old church), large area, gravel and grass.  Self contained only.  However, there are showers and power available @ $10 pn - key available from General Store or Council Office.  Lovely little town - just off the Midlands Highway, about 60k from Hobart.  Water and rubbish tins available.

Editing - after looking at the book properly - the power is free - though there is a donation box, into wich I will put some money when we leave, as we are using the power for the fan - pretty hot today!!!  BBQ also available.

All your posts are making me want to visit Tassie again Jules. So many places we still haven't seen even after 2 trips.

Hi Ruth (presuming it is you?) - We are going to head to Port Arthur on Tuesday - not sure where we will stay, maybe Dunally pub, which is ok after the fires apparently. We are loving Tassy, and the people are so friendly - we decided to come over for an extended period, to see all that we can - going to Bruny Island about the 29th Jan, and also down to ****le creek - going to take a fast boat ride at Bruny!!!!YAY!!!!

Enjoy it Jules. We loved everything we saw in Tassie with kids and without kids. Take care if it starts to rain - the nire caravan the first trip jack-knifed our car and wrote it off!

****le creek is lovely Jules. I stayed at the national park there for 3 days and fished off the beach and even had a swim. There was more than enough room for my Jayco which is the same as Billeeees so go past the rangers hut and find a nice quiet spot. There's a couple of toilet blocks there too.

I'm missing my travels but later this year when the new Beast is built I/we will do a few small trips and then next year be off full time :)

Say hello to Billeeee for me :)

Haven't had reception at ......le Creek - we stayed in one of the free campspots - pretty large spot, nicely grassed, right opposite the beach, near the boatramp - and with a toilet.

Quite a few locals there - they left over the weekend, and a heap of tourists moved in! Well worth the trip down there - as is the South East Cape Walk - `15k - but the view at the end is amazing - next stop Antarctica!!!
