Things in common with Lance Armstrong

confuse Just discovered that I only have two things in common with Lance Armstrong

1. Neither of us has won the Tour-De-France

2. Neither of us has an Olympic Medal

Just as it should be fortunately for me I was never a contestant.no

I would also like to add that seeing all those cyclists spread out in front of me on the road ahead me wondering if I should slow down or lean on the horn and wonder what drugs they are and why havent we got cyclist bars?

Now I know why, they are all obiviously on drugs and has induced my Genghis Khan genetic traits!

Good old Lance, you've got caught and painted the lot in the same light.  I believe a major retail store are now selling drug test kits with all bikes with training wheels, the motto they are using is "get em used to the evasion while they're young".

And I thought my old man was a cynic when he was alive!

Let's not let Lance's mistakes reflect on the entire modern cycling world. That was then. It was his mistake and a few others he pulled down with him.
The sport is strong, the participants are strong and disappointed, but are great ambassadors for their sport.
Adelaide is all over them as the Tour Down Under kicks off.
We must not judge all high ranking cyclists for Lance's and the other's decisions.
This is now, and I hope this history never repeats itself.
The biggest problem stems from the big money these professionals are given, not earned, to wear the clothes, ride the bikes, wear the shoes, carry the drink bottles, wear the helmets etc. It's win at all costs. But is it worth it to win dishonestly?

Been watching Lance's interview with Oprah............. the man's a sociopath.

I can't believe he's capable of any depth of feeling.

More than the doping - which was to enable his own ego and need to dominate, - but the cover up and the blatant lies!

He bullied, lied, and used the legal system to destroy those whistle blowers with the courage to speak out.

Its a must watch interview if you get a chance, and I would be interested in comments.

ABC HDTV 24 Hour News is reshowing 4 Corners doco tonight at 8.30. Really explains all the stuff that Oprah didn't get around to asking. Mainly about him running doping and not just a "poor" victim.

Agree. The man's a sociopath. It's a pity the Oscars nominations have closed, becos he would win a statue for that acting performance.

However, he has done me a favour. No more will I spend three weeks in July sleep deprived and grumpy (grumpier?) becos I was up late watching the Tour. A Tour-free future. I have no interest in watching so-called athletes drugged to the eyeballs pretending to compete with one another. I gather this will be the centenary Tour. They should take the opportunity to make it the last. And rename it the Tour de Farce.

Well, he didn't really, it was the drugs he took that made him say he did, and everyone who told him any different had to shut up.

....................then he told Oprah it was a personality flaw and he was " working through it."

....................AND............................. if he didn't land on the moon, who actually did?

That was Neil/Neal [can't remember which way it's spelled.] Armstrong.  As far as I know, no relation, and probably wouldn't want to be.

Cheers,

Sheba.

So, what is the real problem here? Taking the drugs disadvantages some of the people and takes away a level playing field? Then run two Tours de France. One for non druggies and one for hopheads.. I can't see the problem with that. And think how entertaining the one with the drug takers would be when they took the wrong drugs.

Absolute pig and bully of a man.......I believed from his first denial he was guilty and that's when I started to turn off sport and now I am complete over them all..just love the Paralympians until (and I hope never ) something happens to turn me off also.

Above all, I could not fathom the evil in a man who calls people "liars" over and over in the media and public forums and sues them, taking mega$ as penalties, .... with massive impact on their professional and personal lives,..................all the while knowing they were telling the truth !!

What sort of a person does that, over and over?
