Hi guys :) nice rig. we have been on the road 4 months from Qld and are on the road full time. Stayed at some beautiful free camps in forestry sites next to clear mountain streams as well as council parks which are gold coin donations. We found van parks packed in like sardines at this time of year plus they charge like a wounded buffalo.. :( At Ulladulla NSW atm as there are bad fires down south. We have a Patrol towing our van too. We were going to buy a Jayco as well , Starcraft off roader as sterling too heavy to tow with auto patrol which has 2,500 kg towing limit. Bought A/van as it is very light 1,800 kg. and tows perfectly. No problems with the old bus but it could do with more power on the hills. On the Newcastle expressway we were down to 40 kph being passed by loaded B doubles like we were standing still :( Enjoying life on the road and yes we should have done this years ago. Maybe see you on the road some where.

Hi Guys
We are new to caravaning and like you we are on the road permanetly, we were lucky to have sold our home in Bundaberg just prior to the devastaion. We are travelling the east coast and currently at South West Rocks. Leaving here then onto Nelson Bay then Sydney after that who knows where as we haven't made any plans. Our van is a Geist xl 660 being towed by Mitsubishi Triton.

Hope to catch up

Cheers
Ben & Suz

Jeez, 40kph on the Newcastle expressway reminds me of my old Kombi in a headwind hehe. My Ford Courier goes like a rocket but it doesn't have 800kgs of slide-on camper on the back yet. I'm probably in for a rude shock. But as 30nis says, it's about the journey not the destination and we have the rest of our lives to get there. I also like what Rod and Jo said: Why did we wait so long?
