I have a Sthil 009L, an oldie but a goodie, light and easy to use, 5 minutes and you have enough wood for a few days, I've carried it with me for the last 4 years on the road, best investment I have made, it's 10 years old and just keeps going, with min work to keep it going, much better than saw, axe and little effort, with my Arthritis that's important. I always carry a good load of wood in the side boxes of the tray, a good 2-3 weeks worth in my fire pot.
Looking at buying a Stihl Chain saw models 170/171/ms192t.
Do not want anything too heavy as i want to cut wood for camping.
So any information on these would be appreciated.

I bought a Stihl too, sorry can't remember which model, but it has a 16" bar. Great for gathering a few sticks of firewood just before you enter a National park. From deadfall only though, and cut the branches that are off the ground so that you don't end up bluntening your chain from the sand and grit stuck to the timber on the ground. Anyway, timber resting on the ground may be damp or rotten, and may also be a home for bugs or spiders etc. and you don't want to take away their home do you?
Hey Mr Red you are on the right track with a stihl, been a bushy all my life and have used stihl's in the same life. I will be taking my Stihl MS230 quick start, runs a treat and you can start it with your teeth. Quick and easy to cut a bunch of wood to keep you warm. cheers mate Kev
