Finding water supply on WA west coast

If you have Free Camped from Kunanurra, Broome to Perth, could anyone give me some tips on where you topped up with water.
Most of the CAW6 camp sites show NO WATER available.

Planning leaving home in April for a 6 month around OZ trip, staying in C Ps on the WA coast is NOT an option ie Broome $42 to $ 49 per night, Port Headland $59 pn etc etc.

Call into any tourist Info centre and they will tell you where water is available.Quite often they have a tap for this purpose.

We have found fresh water at info centres. Sometimes you may have to get a key or pay a fee.

Coxy45 - Water available at the Karratha Visitor Centre - cost $1 for 50 litres - don't mind paying for water - it's a necessity.  Larry

Water over in WA is a very valuable comodity. Was over there in 08 & the only place with water available in Exmouth was the info centre.

JC,

You wont get in to CP in Port Hedland anyway I think - full of Miners. I stayed at Roebuck in May - roadhouse before you get to Broome - was $33 and very nice. I did not free camp much that trip but do remember water tanks at Marys Pool, and De Greys - they have newish toilets there now. Garages (servos) have water if desparate - fill a 10L container. Most of the water is from Bores also so full of minerals.

Thanks Spida,

Bore water OK, only need water for showering etc, the only water we drink on the road is out of 5L spring water casks.

Have just had the van serviced in Geelong - had the mains water filter cleaned out - was the reason for mains stopping sometimes when hooked up over night. Full of gunk! Will get a filter I think before I get back to WA.

On our way up to Denham we stopped at the servo in Gero. Asked the lady attendant where we can fill up our watertanks. She phoned the Shire offices who directed us to the CP. As we didnt want to do that we ask her what water they use in their taps on the driveway? She apologised for not thinking and confirmed we may fill up as it is shire water!! All for free!! Problem solved. They have a sign "air and water". Thanks for that!

I won`t use you to navigate for me, you would get me lost.  Try south east.

Water available at Roeborn Visitors centre for a donation, and at Karratha Visitors Info for a few dollars.
