Time to go.

We have bit the bullet and booked the Spirit for the 30th April, no plans yet other than Canberra for a couple three days for Aus War Memorial, Tamworth/Armidale to catchup with family, Brisbane to catch up with Family, Tiaro to catch up with mate, head down to SA for a look around the Peninsula's,  lots of fishing in between before boarding 29th July to Hibernate back in Tassie for the winter. (Yeah I know going backwards)

We're in Canberra at the moment, if you haven't been here before then three days won't even be enough to scratch the surface. There are so many things to see and do here, and most of them are free! We're here for 4 weeks and reckon we'll have to come back again some other time to fit everything in, even with having virtually no 'off' days (apart from Christmas Day). Today we spent 6 hours at the War Memorial, we'll need another 6 some other day to finish seeing it.

War Memorial definitely on the to do list two days as I have been advised,

where to stay was suggested showgrounds as close to CBD and all day bus to get on and off,

as I said in original post no plans other to do the things listed in a three month time frame.

More than happy to take on board suggestions and places to stay with emphasis on freedom camping.

Did 10 weeks in Canberra about 5 months ago.
I did 2 x 5 hour days at the War Memorial.
We visited and saw a lot from Tumut to Charlottes Pass, Bungendore to Cooma and all places and things in between.
We are going back in 2014 to see the rest.....we think!
We are in Perth now.

Have a great trip.

Thanks for that Brickies. We're staying at the South Canberra Motor Village, not a fantastic place but adequate and handy to most things. Finding where to spend the Christmas holidays is always an issue when you live in the van, we figured Canberra wouldn't be too much of a family holiday destination. We hadn't realised until we got here just how much there is to do, between all the capital type things (parliaments houses old and new, archives, high court, war museum.......) and the national parks on the city's doorstep, plus NINE local golf clubs!

And did you realise it was going to be as hot as it has been? Glad you are taking lots of time to see it all. We've been more than once and still there is more to see.

It's possible I'm going to end up with 2 posts here, as I have already responded to this but it seems to have disappeared. Anyway, here I go  again.....

Thanks for those kind words Brickies. We're staying at the South Canberra Motor park, its not fantastic but adequate, and handy to most things. When you live in the van full time it is always an issue finding where to spend the christmas holiday period to avoid too many families, and besides we figured you couldn't claim to have 'done' Australia if you haven't ever been to the capital. It was only when we got here that we found out how many things there are to do here, and on top of that NINE local golf courses!
