Windsor Caravans

Has anyone got any information on what is happening with Windsor Caravans?

The WA agent has ceased trading. The Windsor website is inactive and there are rumours that manufacturing has been taken over by Coromal in WA. I only ask because I have a Windsor still in warranty and of course no one at Windsor has the decency to let you know.

Before Christmas we were looking at vans to buy.  We stopped at a Roma van dealership and in discussions about vans, the dude who wanted us to sign our lives away on a brilliant scheme said that Windsor had gone into recievership and they were trying off load all the product.  Sorry to give you this info, albeit second hand!

The parent company for both Coromal and Windsor is Fleetwood and there is no indications that this company is in any sort of financial trouble they also own Camec and they are a major supplier of housing to mining companies and also cabins for caravan parks, here is the web site for Fleetwood Corporation.

Yes, as above, I heard ages ago that Windsor and Coromal are the same people.
Boothie maybe that salesman was just trying to sell a Roma.

I heard yesterday that Fleetwood are moving Windsor production to WA, appears to be a strange move, but then again with two big brands they can probably monopolise the market in the west.

I read an investment analysts review of Fleetwood last week, and it appears that Camec makes most of the profit in the RV division (includes Camec, Windsor, and Coromal). The other part of the business supplies "manufactured accommodation" and also owns and runs caravan parks. The assessment was unclear regarding the financials of the second division, but it appeared as if caravan parks were becoming increasingly significant to the business.

Not wishing to start a debate on aluminium v timber framed vans, I suppose a move of manufacturing from the eastern states to Coromal in WA will mean Windsors will now be aluminium framed.

The Roma dude said that Windsor had built a heap of vans that didn't meet the ADRs in that were all heavy.  Thats why they were in trouble.  Maybe he just wanted me to sign my life away!
