And yes, you can get the link readable in anothers post just by replying to it and hitting quote (theirs), put your cursor behind the link on theirs and move space bar on space and it will turn blue, then submit post...

I am pretty sure that Wombat had another method but I can't remember what it was, not the same as yours though.

I think you will find my method is handy if someone forgets to hit enter like you said.  I don't know how many times I have mentioned that on the forum either (edit/quote and use space bar to move one space).

Hi folks,

We are the lucky owners of a Mercedes Sprinter motorhome and are planning to hit the "wallaby track" around late April this year.  There's a heap of tidying up to be done in preparation to departing from Hobart and amongst the  jobs is the selection of a suitable "Drive Away Tent/Annexe/Marquee" for the journey.  For those locations where we would like to extend our stay we would like to erect such an item so that tables, chairs etc can be "left behind" in the structure whilst we are off day tripping and seeing the local sights.

As we have no experience choosing such an article we were hoping that your comments and input would assist us in making an informed choice.

Ideally, we would like the structure to have a connection to the motorhome but be simple to detach at the point of departure.  The Tent/Annexe/Marquee should also be lightweight although durable and perhaps even be capable of being erected single handed.  I've seen a number of these structures on the web but, almost without exception, they have all been of UK origin.  Whilst we have nothing against the Pommy gear, we'd rather  buy local if it is available here.

Any clues??????

I wish I could remember Wombats method....

Anaconda have this one (and others I'm sure) but a bit hard to make out if the rear is covered and whether it can be free standing if leaving for awhile, see;

The OZ tent is a very easy tent to erect, but I believe its one disadvantage is the length of the package when it is packed up, there may be a problem of where to stow it when its not in use, but there are many choices at BCF or Rays camping stores, there is something that is sure to suit.

But almost without exception all tents from these stores will be made in China.

Sheeds, if you were in a caravan park I think it would be quite safe, these things have small padlock lugs on them too not that they would stop much, but I have seen some people just leave chairs on their spots to let others know they are parked there, but I wouldn't myself I don't have that much faith in my fellow man/woman. 

I don't think I would try it in a free camp unless I had a very trusted fellow traveller who wasn't going out to keep an eye on it.

There was a case some time ago where someone in a bush camp asked someone they had enjoyed happy hour with and thought they could trust to keep an eye on their caravan while they went into town, when they returned, their new "friends" were gone along with the valuables left in their van (broken into).

If you do leave anything behind in a tent/annex, it is something you would just have to take a chance on, if there are others around I would say most would be trustworthy, but bear in mind they may want to go walkabout or something themselves unless you can make an agreement like you look after my van/pets while we go into town and tomorrow we will do the same for you etc.

Think of people in RV's as others in the community, most are law abiding and trustworthy, but their are lots that arn't, including former criminals etc....
