We usually view the NSW RTA (Live Traffic) site to view 'floods', 'fires' and road conditions. It's also nice to view their road cams and see what the Sydney traffic is like.
However, in the past and today we have found their 'Fire' site is often misleading. As an example, on their site, they reckon that there are currently only two fires burning in NSW.
The Daily Telegraph's 'Breaking National News' advised that there is supposed to be 102 fire burns in NSW, 21 uncontained. On this morning's news, the radio said that there were a number of 'fires' burning in NSW but on the RTA site, there were no fires.
Perhaps there is another web site that we could view that will inform us more accurately of 'Fires' and 'Floods' in NSW (and other states) and where they are?
most recent details that I have are 130 fires in NSW at around 17.15 today but with current wind situation we could be growing in numbers by the hour, my suggestion is that unless you absolutely have to stay off the roads in areas where fires are currently burning as you may not be able to get back or worst still you may be caught in the fire.
