Barbecues on the road


Do you carry a barbecue with you when on the road?

Please advise what.

We carry a Weber Baby Q, sometimes a Cobb Cooker and sometimes an Ozpig.

No BBQ here, often thought of the Baby Q but we have an oven so would probably be doubling up really.

Only have the internal stove and oven and a little three burner gas coleman. Other then that, all else is cooked on the camp fire.

We don't take off without our little barbie - a cheapie one from Aldi that we had a full size plate made for it. Just love it and we have had sausage sizzles and barbeques in the most wonderful places in all weathers (eg winter 2011 in Tasmania). It's one of those things we don't leave home without! Fits beautifly in one of Pete's old army duffle bags - after all this time finally found a use for it!

Weber baby Q100 for me on the road and I have the Q220 at home. I would never have any other type of BBQ David. Oh! Did I say I love my Q?

A Jaffle cooked in a Furphy cast iron Jaffle Iron for breaky at a Camp Oven Gathering at Thora NSW,  and I only had coffee!

Weber BabyQ Chorizo and Parmesan Bites by Carolyn:

Put a double layer of alfoil and trivet in BabyQ and preheat to 190C

 

 

 

Spray or grease mini muffin tin

 

 

 

1 cup Self Raising flour

 

 

 

1/2 teaspoon Baking Powder

 

 

 

1/8 teaspoon chilli powder

 

 

 

Salt and Pepper

 

 

 

1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese

 

 

 

1/4 cup parsley or rocket

 

 

 

In another bowl mix

 

 

 

1 beaten egg

 

 

 

1/2 cup milk

 

 

 

2 tablespoons olive oil

 

 

 

Mix wet into dry only mixing enough to combine

 

 

 

Divide into 12 minimuffins

 

 

 

Bake at 190C 15-18 minutes until brown on top

 

 

 

Cool but can be eaten warm.
