Freecamping is a great option for many of our members and there are some absolutly great locations to freecamp often a bit off the beaten track which makes them even more apealing.
Over the next week or two is probably a very good time to try a Caravan park and catch up on some washing etc as the climate with over forty (40) degrees in most states is not a wise time to be camped in the bush or beside that beautiful lake or beach where you have to drive through bush or grass land to get back to a main road,
The weather forcasters are also predicting strong winds and a very high potential for wild fire with potential for loss of life.
The members and guests of this forum are far to valuable and important to us all to risk loosing for the sake of saving a few dollars on Caravan park fees PLEASE play it safe over this next few weeks, and listen to ABC radio for constant updates to any fire situation.

Hi guys _ It's peak tourist season if in Mt Gambier SA (all other parks are full) Try the Trotting Race Track, turn R off the Adelaide to Melbourne highway then take the last enterance on Left go down down long driveway, camping area on right - (on site caretaker 9 months of the year), signposted once inside racetrack) Pleasant experience, good showers, and toilets, (approx 12 powered sites) @ 10.00 per night ( $20 refundable key deposit for showers & toilet) - very quiet - good atmosphere - good phone reception, safe secure location, Water on powered sites is over chlorinated otherwise OK to drink. Bore water next to stables is better quality.
