G'Day, Like many others who like to be nice and do unto others etc etc, I try to make my posts or replies as friendly as possible and try and not be ambiguous or patronising or whatever. (I'm good at that eh!).
I try to add an "Emoticon" as a sort of postscript just to ensure what I write is taken in good faith.
However, when I look for a smiling face - a smilie - I cannot find one -- plenty of aggro, up yours, shouldn't do that, burn in hell etc but minimal feel good emoticons.
My question is seeing as they are called "emoticons", I'd guess they portray emotions.....so why are so many negative.....is that the society we live in?
Hmmm....OK, I guess I was looking for the traditional smilie - the one that had the yellow face, eyes looking at you and a grin....sort of like when you talk to someone face to face. The one labelled "smile" in the list is looking sideways away from the viewer. Maybe I'm getting old
I rarely use the emoticons as I go in to the Post Quick Reply. They are not there and I don't have time to go in to Advanced Editor. I am always in a hurry to get to the next thread. lol
