Ballarat Begonia Festival

Wondered if anyone knows of an economical campsite in or near Ballarat?  Would like to go to the Festival in March 2013 but not keen on the overpriced holiday parks, they have too many "bells and whistles" for the likes of us!  We dont need bouncing pillows as havent yet reached my second childhood!!smile

Hi Veronica, there is a caravan park at Lake Leamonth about 15 km west of Ballarat. Also Creswick Caravan Park and a free camp at Slatey Creek near cheers Glenda

great free camp at smithdale gardens showers toilets just 15 min to ballarat safe to leave van  plenty of other vans there all they ask is a donation we stayed 3 days
