I would like to thank all those who had the interest to follow this through & request the results.

It is a pleasure to share these with you, for the benifits that will be gained.

J.C. what type of insulation did you use? (I get itchy thinking about fibre glass). I checked my fridge installation, there is about 25mm gap on one side, about 50mm on the other & at least 100mm at the top, with no insulation at all. The deflector bafflle is only the width of the vent opening, which leaves about 50mm gap on one side & 100mm on the other. Overall I would say a very poor installation, so heaps of room for improvement.

Pete

I an understand your reluctance as I am the same.

I use different type of batteries and stay away from battery topics.

I have been attacked on most of the main Rv forums as they said what we wanted to do was not possible but then we are doing it so we are happy.

I think it is the same people as they get their thrills trying to bring people down.

Regards
brian

 Hi

The criteria for efficient operation of any fridge

Best possible insulation[to keep the heat out]

Efficient cooling of the condenser[ to ensure hot refrigerent does not enter the evaprator,] MAY mean  forced  air cooling

Follow those rules with any fridge & you may be surprised@ the results both performance &energy consumption wise

YES ,Pete A very poor inslallation ,but sadly typical of MOST

Does not comply with the fridge maker's specified requirements

Apparently van makers do not believe it mattersno

Peter

I had fans fitted prior to this , now have the insulation so should be in for a cooler time.

Not on the road at the moment so will be keen to see how it performes when we travell again.
