Its happened, at 3.45 today Syl boarded a plane back home.
Got a call Thursday evening and her dad has taken a turn for the worst. Her mum is spinning out big time.
Syl was quite upset and when she went for a walk alone, I got online and had selected a flight back home for her.
When she got back I just said, "Hun, I can get you on a flight, I need to know right now, answer is either yes or no". Hit the confirm booking button.
We had a good talk last night and when I get back, sparks are going to fly with both of our families from both Syl & I. (unless I deliberately forget to take the home turn off and keep going).
Some phone calls from both our mums, and or nieces & sisters have been over petty or un-warranted stuff. Our 3 kids that are still in Syd, we have decided not to go near them and will not engauge in any conversation with them, period.
We plan to stay a few weeks and then start heading south, close to the end of the holiday season.
We did get to spend a lot of time with our second eldest and our grand daughter, we had not seen our son for about 5 or so years and is the first time we have seen our grand daughter in person. Like all grand parents, we think she is georgous. Our son rang me at 3.45 and starts singing "leaving on a Jet Plane". It was quite funny.
So for me, I may leave Caloundra around Tuesday and plan to take my time getting to Syd, told Syl not sure if I will be there for xmas.
So from a temporary solo GN,
Regards
Daryl

Alcohol is not the answer. It only makes you forget the question.
Bugga! Goodonya Daryl, hope her Dad recovers and is ok. Its not much fun driving south on the Pacific Highway with all the road works, less so under those circumstances. Good luck to you both.
Best wishes Daryl for a safe journey. Take your time, and don't stress about the family while you're on your own.
And for Syl, poor dear, I know just how she feels. My Mum passed away while I was in FNQ. Thankfully I was with good friends who organised a flight for me quick smart. I hope it doesn't go this way for Syl. I'll be thinking of her.
