Information (for the use of)

Hello Folks,

In view of the fact that we have a Wombat in our midst I thought that the following may be of some interest or maybe none at all.

The latin name for the Southern Hairy nosed Wombat is Lasiorhinus Latifrons. In view of that I now pose the question, is our beloved and much admired resident of the burrow a Southern Hairy nosed one, or is he a Northern bare nose variety, (Lasiorhinus Krefftii) The latter goes under the mavellous nickname of Bulldozer of the Bush. Because of their total disregard of moving objects on highways, their mortality rate is very high in the roadkill statistics. We can only hope that our beloved Wombat moves a good bit faster than his furry mates.

The Northern hairy nosed wombat is similar to the Southern hairy nosed wombat, but has a wider, flattened, longer muzzle. They also tend to have dark patches around their eyes. Too much wine women and song, not to mention late nights??? Staggering back to the burrow with glazed eyes?

In conclusion I have to say that we are very lucky to one of these magnificent creatures on our forum, who's contributions add a great deal to our cultural knowledge not to mention his sometimes acid wit and keen observations. (Wombat, where is that $50.00 you promised me for penning this little missive???

Regards to all

Magnarc.

Lest I be accused of plagiarism, much of the above info was gleaned from the Wombania, Wombat Information Centre site.

Hmmmm, some of you people take yourselves pretty seriously don't you?

I was pulled up in similar heavy handed style shortly after joining, why not leave moderation to the mods and forget about these vindictive little jibes.no

Hi Santa, ! It's not SOME  on Here It is only a couple ?? And if you check there previous posts it could be stated that some of them are not in the appropiate sections anyway

This is the General Forum, Which in my humble opinion is for General interesting and informative subjects. and I found Magnarc post on ''wombats'' interesting and informative

So lets all enjoy the contributions from ''THE SOME ? '' and Ignore the petty blitherings of '' THE COUPLE ??

Fair enough Dazren,

I realise this is the general forum, I also understand that posting in the correct area makes the job of moderators easier and assists in the smooth running of the forum.

In other forums I belong to mod's simply move posts in incorrect area's without discussion, it's affective and people get the message pretty quickly.

Point taken about the tems I used (Some v couple) sadly it's often the couple that stand out who seem to get noticed.smile

Hi everyone,
Just thought I'd move this over into 'I digress'.  I try to keep things in order as well as I can.  Of course, there are plenty of grey areas but all we can do is try our best to keep things in the right place so everyone can most easily find what they are looking for.

I had no idea that my posting would cause disagreement among posters, however, I still think that it is debateable whether it should have appeared on the General or the Digress forum, but I bow to the Moderators decision to move it. Every online forum has its nit pickers, we just have to live with it I guess.
