Can there be more than one Greens Lake?

I know we have Gympie as a meeting ground and Greens Lake is an extraordinary GN venue but would it work if we had a venue in each state where GNs can meet up? We haven't been able to join the group at either of the above - just too far away at the time. Would it work or not?

What about your front lawn neilnruth, there is power and water there, might need a security patrol at night though.

Good idea Ruth.
There was a get-together at Mudgee a few years ago, if anybody was there, could you comment on the facilities/area please?

Westralians have had meet-ups too, have you found a spot where we could congregate like Greens?

I think that is a good idea, have a "regular" meeting spot in each state and GN's try to visit that spot for at least one or two nights when in the area, that way you are bound to run into someone, also let others know on the forum you are there as per those have at Greens Lake.

It would have to be dog friendly to allow those with dogs to be there as well (I assume Greens Lake is?).

We have had a couple of meet ups in WA Gerty, mainly in the Perth area, although we stay in different parks (or home for those living within cooeee) so far it has been Fast Eddy's Cafe and Whiteman Park (Great spot, dogs on leads ok, also designated fenced dog run for accompanied dogs needing more exercise, although plenty of walks in the area too).

There have been some other casual meet ups in country areas on GN, but normally only one or two meeting.

The idea has merit NeilnRuth, needs some thought and input for those in the other states as to suitable areas.   confuse

Mudgee has three CP's, all seemingly heavily overwhelmed with cabins. Mudgee showground, as I understand it, is available for camping but pretty similar price as the CP's. Gulgong, 30km away has one CP, plus showground available for camping. Not sure on price for either (we live there so haven't needed to find out, lol) but facilities at both are apparently good. One that I like is Cudgegong River Park on the Mudgee side of Burrendong Dam, no power, no generators, numerous, good facilities, plus kiosk. Dogs on leash OK. Think camping is $9/person/night. Very popular through summer with the skiing fraternity but plenty of room. Another good one would be the free camp at Gum Bend Condobolin but maybe a tad overrun on weekends due to sking, etc. Dogs on leash OK here as well

Just found on Getogether posts that a NSW catch up was planned in 2010 at
The venue: Mudgee Riverside Caravan and Tourist Park,

If we do something like Greens Lake we need a 'free camp' not a paying one.

When orginising the Qld get together I found most people want free or cheap Ruth. Cobb & Co was $10 p/p/p/n which was a bit 'up there' for couples. Horeses for courses. Some people don't mind paying and some find it hard. It's difficult to find something that suits everyone. Good luck!

NSW is a big place, perhaps a couple of different spots will be found. As people head north in April/May it seems they use the inland roads, but lately we've had more travellers on the coast road. Theres certainly many many caravans and motorhomes on the Coast Highway.

All you have to do is find a place and name a date. Announce it on here in Get togethers and ask who will be coming along. Anyone heading that way or intend to be in the area at that time will confirm if they can make it.

Well I am in Perth and the last thing I would want to do is meet in Perth. Any time off and Neil and I want to get out of the city. We are planning to go away for at least 5 days over xmas but still unsure yet where. Been looking at the Blackwood river region but everything has a charge associated with it.

Cheers, Shazza
