My boy has been sick.
We found a lump while away a few weeks ago, and as it was growing quickly, we got the vet to take a look.
He had surgery, and then got allergic to the anitbiotics.
He vomited continuously and also has an awful itchy rash. He's sore and bruised and just wants his ball!
In the middle of this he took a fit.

Life has been a bit busy, and that's why we haven't posted anything.

It's always distressing when one of our furry friends is unwell, what was the vet's diagnosis? hope he will recover.

Thanks santa
He's sleeping lots today, wanting his food but not eating much. Wants lots of pats and ear rubs.

My boy Jack is snoring at the foot of the bed in the caravan.
He is having a very social time of it here in Hervey Bay.
Has made lots of new doggy friends and their humans too.

Thanks everyone.

Paddy seems to be back on his feet again, gave the anitbiotics the flick 2 days ago and today he seems to want his food again. Still has stitches in, but begging for a ball game- breaks my heart always saying "No ball".

No more fits, thank God!

Vet's happy.

I hope that your boy is recovering OK. Always hard to deal with--they cant tell you what is wrong; but those eyes! Have you had any results back from the Vet?

My daughter's black lab has had a number of 'lump' surgeries.  The first time he had a reaction to the type of suture they used and broke out in even more lumps. They now use a different type of thread to sew him up.

A number of us have asked the question Rosie, what was wrong with him?

He had a lump over his left shoulder- awaiting histology
He fitted after the GA
He vomited his heart out for a day or so- vet said allergy to antibiotics
He had a very nasty itchy rash- allergy to something ? antibiotic, ? something else. Nasty and full of pus.
He had his surgery on Tuesday, and is just eating normally again today (Saturday).

Thankyou for the welcome; and Rosie great news about your boy.  We had a black and tan kelpie (well really x between kelpie and doberman) who developed a lump on her chesty bone.  The vet said leave it!  Later we had to make and take the choice to have it removed.  A much bigger job than it needed to have been if we had removed it earlier.  She took it like a champ whilst her mum and dad were beside ourselves with love and worry.  Jess would have liked our new nomadic life style.  Now we have our golden lab, not quite a year old, who goes everywhere with us.  She is our delight and keeps us focused as a couple; but oh boy why is that labs take up so much floor room.

Hope improvement continues Rosie

Cheers

Rosie,

I hope your little mate is doing well again.

I had to put my little mate down on Christmas Day. Very painful.

I can empathise Janette having been through the same experience recently, what a sad thing to have to do, particularly on Christmas day.cry
