New site is up

Hi Cindy,

All tabs are working ok in Chrome, Firefox & IE9, BUT on my system the forum is showing the old pages on all browsers, I have tried restarting and f5 refresh and still the same, anybody seeing the same ?

also the link to the weelky, sometimes monthly biggrin mailbag is no longer showing for me, has it been removed?

Hooray! The new site is up, and we hope working properly ... and speedily. We look forward to receiving your feedback, both good and bad. Apart from giving us a bright new look, we wanted the site to be easier to navigate and the information more accessible. We hope the new 'search' function will help us achieve that. There are a number of other new features including a beefed-up classifieds section, and that means the long-waited 'For Sale' facility has also finally arrived. I hope it will be well used. The equally long-awaited new bumper stickers have also made their long overdue appearance and these can be bought at our 'Shop'. We hope to add other merchandise is in due course, including the good old stubby holder. In other exciting developments, we are venturing tentatively into the world of social media and we hope you will 'like' us. Rest assured that, beneath our 'flashy' new exterior, we are still just the same old site doing the same old thing .... trying hard to make travelling this great country more fun ... and even more friendly.

Hi Cindy, for your info, the site is not compatible to Firefox browsers at present. I can only see text columns of links, which go nowhere.

You will need to address this I think.

I'm using Firefox and the site is working very well. The forum has empty boxes where the advertising was at the top for me, I my guess is that is being worked on?

The new site is done very well, I congratulate the designer.

Ahhh ok, with your mention of advertising Janette, I disabled my Ad-Blocker for the site and it now comes upo. Go figure.

Thank You Cindy + Co Just did a quick run through, and everything seems fine at my end, I am going to enjoy re-exploring this site, I even walked out into the Garage and looked for something to put on the ''forsale'' section

However you did forget one Important Function ???????????????? the ''Wombat Removal'' Key ???? I know BohemianGypsy and Dougwe, Really wanted that function. biggrin biggrin [ but not me cause i like the wombat wink

Hi Cindy and a big thank you for providing such a great site for GN's.

I use IE and at the moment the advertising doesnt load on page, but otherwise no worries.

All looks good to me on Google Chrome, nice looking home page, easy to navigate and fast to load.
Loads on FireFox but does not does not display correctly, suspect something to do with adblocker settings, seldom use FF so no big deal.
I.E. never use it.

Hi guys. Just to clarify. The forum is to remain basically unchanged and can be accessed through the main website or through the direct URL address. We are just having a couple of issues with displaying the ads on that page but will get that sorted eventually. I guess we will also add our new logo in there somewhere at some stage but, as I say, otherwise, it will remain largely unchanged. I know a lot of people love it just as it is ... and I wouldn't want to do anything drastic!

Wombat if you enter the website through the front door it still is the same web address but I do know there are some people that logon to( thegreynomads. activeboard.com) site into the forum

I think I may need a direct URL link to the forum page, can you post one here for me to try, please Cindy, does not have to be clickable, I have gone through the main page but I still get the old forum page, perhaps it is engraved on my system cos I'm on here so much biggrin

Hey Wombie, if you read what Cindy said, the forum is unchanged, what YOU see is all there is to see. No changes.

That's right, Wombat. Sorry about the confusion. I know with our sparkling new website you would expect a forum to match, wouldn't you? But since everyone is so used to it as is, we might leave well enough alone for now.

The forum is fine and works well, my only peeve is the thick black lines between the sections on the Forum Index Page.

I love the logo, all class along with the stickers and the website. I agree it is a wonderful job you do with the forum Cindy.
