Day 28 already and I have been on the road for nearly one month now, gee time flies when you have fun.
I have left Batemans Bay and now in Kiama and after adding 5 extra nights to my already 4 nights and only paying for 7 of the 9, due to a discount voucher I got from the BB CV show I now leave here Monday 12/11, at the end of the day and with a seniors discount as well it is only costing $17.00 per night, power, water and nice ammenities block, then more than likely take a couple of days and head to Greens Lake to see if any GNs are still there.
I had a great stay in Batemans Bay, visited the Mogo Zoo, a reasonably small zoo but very well run and all the animals looked healthy and happy. The white lions were my highlight, the main reason for the visit anyway, I was not disappointed, Mum, Dad and 2 Cubs.
The next day I had a cruise along the Clyde River for 3 hours and very enjoyable, for an extra $10 you get fish, chips and salad for lunch, well worth it and very tasty indeed. There is a lot of Oyster Farming along the Clyde River and very nice as well, I know because I got some and did Oysters Kilpatrick back at the Avan, a bit small as I am used to the Tassie Oyster but yummo anyway.
While in Batemans Bay I had the pleasure of meeting Capricorn and Pisces, neilnruth,kiwi-as and briche. All great people. Thankyou all.
On Friday, Saturday and Sunday the Caravan and Camping Show was on in town and attracted heaps of people from far and wide and the town was busy busy busy.
I was invited to dinner Friday night and had a great meal with great people.
Saturday morning I left Batemans Bay with some sadness but I will return one day, that Im sure of. I really loved it there and the surrounding area. I arrived in Kiama and on first sight I was disappointed but after setting up camp I went for a drive around town to check out where things are and well, my first opinion changed very quickly, so much so as I said above I added extra time to my stay.
The CV park I am in is really nice and so too are the people running it, I hear the surf rolling in as it is right next door. I was told this morning by a local that there is a surf carnival on this weekend so that should be interesting to see, I can just walk out the back of my Avan and see all the happenings.
I am off to see the Sri Venkateswara Temple, Nan Tien Buddist Temple and Sea Cliffs Bridge in Wollongong on Tuesday, if I can fit all that in, if not I will go back, I am really looking forward to those. I have plenty of time to check out things while here in Kiama as well as rest up. I am still thinking about getting on a train and do a day trip to Sydney.
I had trouble again with TV reception but re-located the antenna and it seems to be working fine now, touch wood.
glad your enjoying your self Doug, the Mogo Zoo is great, dad and i went last year, I loved those little monkey things and how they sit and eat, there tiny little hands and such
give me a call in the evening either today or tomorrow , Ill come up and see you..
Hi Doug, just a quick note. We came over the top of Clyde Mountian this afternoon. All went well but we decieded to stop just short of the top ( about 4 Kms ) because things were starting to get a bit on the hot side not that the Crusier would not have do it but why push it. The outside temp was about 30 degrees and a couple of others were of the same thought. Those last few sections are very steep. Trust you are well and I see by you're posts you are still having a great time. Travel safe and take care
Brian & Cheryl

Well you will both remember the area because of the Clyde Mountain! It was a hot day for going up so glad you made the decision to cool it off. Thanks to briche for keeping Neil company over the weekend. Glad Doug is continuing to have a great time. You'll need to get those cards reprinted Doug. I no longer think you are a part-time GN!!
