On the road to Broome

Left Perth this morning heading toward broome. First nightsees us at Oakabella Station which is about 30kms north of geraldton. Bloody windy and no signal until I plugged the arieal in for the 4 g. Old station house and outbuildings are worth a look as is the old machinery that has been just left as it was when they finished using it many years ago.

cheers

well that was a windy night, blew a fairly steady 25kmh with gusts up to 40kmh. we are parked on top a hill in the middle of the paddock. Still a nice place at $9 per person. They say power but I couldnt find an outlet but looks like they maybe doing some electrical work.
cheers

Geraldton doesn't call itself the windsurfing capital of Australia for nothing!

Pretty windy in Perth today as well. Early this year we called into Oakabella and did a tour of the building, didn't stay overnight though, interesting history! Clank, Clank.....

Hope the trip goes well, pretty crappy weather at the moment though.

After doing $2500 damage to the rear of my car, I learn that tyres have a five year use by date.

The tyre dealer that put my original spare (never used) on the car obviously did not know either !!!

Had drive to exmouth today to get the tyres, not cheap at $145 each plus a 320km around trip. Had a snorkle on the ningaloo reef and although the coral is mostly bleached there is still alot of fish activity, so its all been worth it. The only complait wouldbe the whole township has basicly shut down for the melbourne, no charters etc operating. For peats sake its on the other side of the country but the ladies did look good in the cup finery.
cheers
