What a day. Ventured on to Alexandra, chin wagged with local fishing shop identity, a wealth of knowledge for trout and general fishing, plus adding his input with info from the last Bushfires which ravishid the land I later travelled thru.
The drive out to Eildon is very worth the time. Viewed the wall and travelled over it, tried my luck at attempting to fish.
Bugga that, too blinkin' hot and after a dozen casts of the lure I gave up. Walked back to my rig as an older model grey Toyo Cruiser arrived. As you do, I waved to the blokes on board, got a wave back and proceeded to the ute to stash the rod.
"Did ya do any good " was the comment from the Cruiser,"Nah" said I, was just out practicing.
"Victorian Fisheries Department, can I see your licence" gulp !
"Err, I have a Pension Card, is that any good,"
"Show me" says him and his mate scribbling down info with glee!
"OK" & "Thanks" as they left me a little daunted.
Seems in Victoria and NSW your Pension Card is your Fishing Licence.
But scenery once again real magic.

Good pics OleGrizzly - the last time I was there, near where your first pic is taken - the water level was abysmally low - the old wall was showing, and there was a tiny puddle in the slipway - we came through Bonnie Doon recently, and it is amazing how much water there is - wonderful to see. Enjoy the area - Marysville is not far from there - the town is struggling a lot since the fires that devastated it a few years ago, and are very welcoming to travellers and tourists - go and have a look - great bakery there!
