Check the vehicle handbook, but my data base reveals the following: 4 Cylinder has a max tow weight of 1000Kg & a max ball weight of 100Kg. 6 Cylinder has a max tow weight of 1600Kg & a max ball weight of 160Kg. A WDH is also required. Ozjohn.

Note !! as Ozjohn said, It must be the 6 Cyl and you will need a WDH
the tribute v6 I had was great to tow with plenty of power but with a small fuel tank and bad fuel consumption with the 14ft aerolight caravan I had at the time 280k was the best I ever achieved out of a tank of fuel.
