As long as 'Wilson' is in charge it should get to you A O K Vic.
Edit...I just got mail from the Batemans Bay Post Office today, that I had re-directed to there. Worked well. "Wilson ' might have been in charge there too.

As long as it's not a contact from an shonky email promising you lots of money IF you pay for it. It should be ok. We have to be so alert for scams these days. I hope it works out for you.

Wilson isn't much good Doug, he swam away when the going got rough!!
No fears there CG, a legitimate product from a legitimate company who get International Shipping to do their deliveries and who employ Fedex to deliver to Oz and some other countries.
No claimed profit in it for me, just had to pay for the product and shipping. Definitely a legit company!
I had never heard of anyone who had received something via Fed Ex, so wondered about their reputation. They have an office in WA and probably other states as well.
I googled their site for oz and there were a couple of not so good reviews, but some good too.
I bought some electronic items from USA via FEDEX. Arrived in 10 days to my door.
Perth delivery was subbed out to the company with little Aussie flags on the cab, Discount Freight Express ???
Thanks Chris, I googled FedEx and it showed they had a depot in Belmont (WA) so if it gets returned I don't have far to go to pick it up.
Maybe the Aussie flag crowd are under contract, did they let you know an arrival date? When I googled FedEx there were some not so good reviews. I emailed them about their delivery practices and this is what I received back;
"Please be informed that once shipper despatch goods in US, a tracking number will be obtained which would provide the estimated delivery date, provided no delays with customs.
Normally, upon delivery, courier does not carry mobile phone so they won't be able to ring before delivery. Alternately, once you have a tracking number, you can track it on below site.
Don't worry about online tracking. Your parcel will dissappear into the either for a while, then mysterially turn up. This is normal, even for Aust post !!!

Thanks redjcw, I haven't got my tracking number yet so hope I get that soon.
Do they actually give you a date they are going to deliver on the tracking system? Or just give you general info, ie; arrived at the Australian depot or something similar?
I would like to be home on the delivery day, don't really care what time of the day, as long as I know the day itself....
You normally get an e-mail telling you that your order has been received within minutes of making it, and you get a tracking No. at the same time, as well as any other relevant info. That's the way it works with other companies, anyway vic.
Cheers,
Sheba.

I purchased an electronic item from USA earlier this year to be delivered via Fedex I was advised that I would receive an email when the item was despatched along with a tracking number but exactly 6 days later my item was delivered so I have no complaints...just didn't get the email. I thought it was excellent service, it can take Aust Post longer than that to deliver interstate.

This one is a bit more drawn out than that, the supplier firstly notifies you that your order has been received but payment by credit card needs to be confirmed first before order can be accepted. Please note this is a legitimate supplier of goods.
Then you are notified a couple of days later that your order has been confirmed, give you an order number and advise the goods will be sent by International Shipping once order is ready. My order was confirmed on 18th October.
Then International Shipping advise you that they have received the order and advise you that a tracking number will be sent to you once the item is despatched. A query to them advised me that delivery will be made by airfreight and to my door by FedEx. They advise that delivery can take anywhere between 8 and 20 days.
I am still waiting for confirmation the goods have been despatched by FedEx and a tracking number, have also contacted them again regards a tracking number.
Thanks Gill, I just got an email from International Shipping (the go between company arranging shipping between the selling company and the deliverer) that mine is now coming via DHL and I have a tracking number. DHL have sent me an email saying it has been picked up from International Shipping so it looks like it is on the way. DHL link below;
I spoke to our local DHL delivery at Perth Airport, they were very helpful and said it should arrive in Perth early next week coming, then has to go through customs, but I should have it next week for sure. They are going to send me an email and sms on my mobile when delivery is going to be made and told me also to keep an eye on the online tracking. He said their drivers will not make any phone calls the same as FedEx said as they would have to use their personal phones? (they are in business aren't they?)
Also the Perth DHL office/warehouse does not ring you either (same as FedEx). Seems all a bit hairy/fairy to me for both of them, but at least I have a rough idea at this stage (sometime next week) so can work around that and the updates etc.
I just got an online update on my tracking bit saying the item had left Los Angeles Gateway, so looks like it may be on one of their planes, see this link; http://www.flickr.com/photos/dpdhl/4865193713/
Well, I got my almost 3kg box from the US today via DHL (not FedEx).
That was 13 days from (and including) the time my order was confirmed and delivered. They had quoted me 8-20 days for delivery so no problem there!
I had been following the progress on the DHL website with the tracking number I had received which told me when it arrived in Perth and when the courier picked it up, so at least I knew the day it would be delivered. An email I got later told me the courier had it for delivery after he had already delivered it, so pays to keep informed online yourself.
What a route it took, first picked up at the store at North Carolina, then to Van Nuys Sort Facility in Calfornia, then onto LA Gateway Airport sort facility (east side of US) then flown to sort facility at Cincinnati (west side of US), then flown to Hong Kong sort facility (and customs), and finally from there to Perth Airport DHL deport, picked up and delivered by courier from there to my home address near Perth.
So pretty happy with the service all told and the excellent condition of the box (about 3 kgs) and goods.
