There was a post on here just the other day, maybe week about them having a problem with towing and the tow bars not being strong enough, something like that anyway.

Just read in May Caravan World, Nissan do not recommend a load leveller for towing. Makes me wonder the strength of their chassis.
Seen a Nissan up Cape York with a broken back.

Not sure this has anything to do with the Colarado

I was after Fuel economy, and performance when towing a decent type caravan.I believe there towing capacity is 3.5t, I was wondering how it would go pulling anywhere near this capacity. Slow I would think????

I am surprised no one on the forum has a Colarado to report there fuel economy , Google they are talking 8.5 to 9.2 lts per 100klm , Talking to people on the road when towing most avg between 5 to 6.5 klm per litre when towing I think little extra feul to tow in comfort is a big thing hope you can get some feed back from an owner on the forum they do look good and have good towing capaticy at 3500 kg.

Don't know about the latest model, but I have a 2009 Colorado with the 3-litre diesel motor.

On a recent 1300-km trip, about half of that distance pulling a soft-floor camper trailer and half without the CT, it used 10.47 litres/100KM, a figure with which I was not displeased.

It's no Ferrari off the lights, but out on the open road it settles down happily and pulls away well.

Cheers, Tony

Hi all as a new member to the GN site I will impart my knowledge on fuel consumption with my 2011 Holden Colorado 3.0 ltr turbo diesel, I am towing a new Coromal Lifestyle 615 only picked it up 6 weeks ago. As I live on the NSW South Coast I have to head over the Clyde mountain or Nerriga, to head west. Roxy (the boss) and I headed of to break in our new van on the 15th of Sept and travelled to Wagga and Henty for the field day and then back via Tumut. I have fitted a DP Chip to the Colorado and was very pleased with the overall power and consumption. We tavelled 1285km on this trip and used 170lts of fuel which equates to 13.23 lts to 100km or 21.35ml to the gallon. I have owned a HJ60 Landcruiser in the past towing a 14' poptop and only managed 22ml to the gallon with that old girl, but that was when we had kids and carried everything from bikes to spare bed for the annex, big TV etc (Oh how things have changed) so given I am now towing a bigger van we are very happy with our rig, and hope that may answer a few questions.

See You On The Road smile

as the wife said we have the latest model colurado and i love it .its only got 4000 ks on it and its freeing up nicely . havnt towed to far but the short trip we did do was up to peachester and it handled the hill gr8.

like kiwi as said there was an issue with the towbar not allowing weight distribution hitch but thats been resolved now . it did sag a little when hitched to the van . but theres not much i can complain about it goes gr8 it rides gr8 its like a car inside . jim just cruisen was given the privilege of shofering kiwi around and they both seamed to like it . time will tell when we hit the road a bit further from home .della got 7.8 to the 100 empty so im thinkin around 15 to the 100 on a good trip .

I pick up my new Colarado on the 20th and certainly won't be towing without my WDH.
