Rocky met a Spida

Gday...

Spent the morning enjoying a cuppa and a chat at the Stockman's Hall of Fame with Spida (Vida). It is always good swapping stories with other travellers and this morning was no exception. I was even lucky enough to participate in a "Book Launch" in the Art Gallery - with some sandwichs and a drink. AH, it is not what ya know - but who ya know. Thanks for a good morning Spida.

That makes two of the 4,243 members of the forum that I have now actually met.

Cheers - John

2 down 4,241 to go John, shouldn't take long. You need to be heading south for the summer to catch some more.
Great you were able to catch up with Spida.

Thank you John - a lovely morning chatting,  and yes - we did strike it lucky with lunch! Am enjoying reading the book also, and almost sold a painting this afternoon - but the couple couldnt decided  as they both liked different ones - would have to be sent to Germany as well!

I am 1 up on you - have now met 3 Nomadswink

I have also been told the water is contaminated in Longreach so BOIL it!

Rocky Lizard - in Longreach, ask at the visitors info centre, saw some people filling containers of water there - wouldn't use the water at the Long Waterhole free camp for much at all!!!! Straight out of the river I reckon, from the colour of it!!

Gday...

Thanks for the concern. However, I am always cautious with 'outback' water. I have a very good filter on the tap in my van so no matter what the source, it is pure when I get to put into my tummy. biggrin

And each of my water tanks are three-quarters full with excellent water from down south - more than enough to get me to Normanton - my next major stop. I also have an external filter for 'cleaning' any mains water that comes into the van.

Cheers - John
