My suburban hot water service has reduced water pressure. I have full pressure when using cold water? The hot water pressure is only half of what it used to be. Water temperature is ok. There is also a loud whistling noise coming from the taps when using the hot water. Can anybody help?.
All I can suggest is phone Casey's RV at Bundaberg.I was up there recently to have a Suburban fitted because my old Carver was leaking. To cut a long story short they replaced a valve on my Carver instead of changing the unit $100 instead of $1500.
They were very helpful and I am sure a call might get an answer.

I am no expert but I think it would have something to do with the pump, is the pump electric?
have you checked for leaks? or maybe air getting into the system.
as Yuglamron suggests, get to a suburan dealer and have it checked.
Suggest you check the pressure relief valve (hissing problem - is it over pressurising??? - ours has a small water discharge almost every hot/cold cycle from dischage tube).
Also take out the anode if you haven't recently and check it and you can also see if there is any sludge corrosion in/coming out of the tank. If you find sludge/corrosion it may have moved into pipes also.
Look for simple things first, ie it worked before,,, why not now?

Found the problem guys. Seems my Carbon/siver water filter had a problem and let the carbon granules into the main water line. The particles blocked the non return valve and stuffed the rubber seal, causing decreased water pressure. Replaced the valve ($27) with a new one and hey presto problem solved. Full water pressure and plenty of hot water, NO WHISTLING. For those that responcded to my cries for help. Thanks heaps.
